So it's the new year, it's time for people to make resolutions and hope for happiness all year round...right? Well that would be lovely if the doomsday clock had not just been moved 60 ticks towards midnight. Yes it seems that the possibility of nuclear war, deaths in the millions and basically the complete annihilation of the human race is getting closer. The subliminal clock face currently stands at 11.55pm and has been moved forward because countries such as the USA, China, Israel, India, Iran, Egypt and Pakistan have all failed to limit the production of nuclear weapons and North Korea refusing to cut off the production of nuclear weapons, plus with the erasion of Kim jong-il from the picture his son Kim jong-un his 'out to prove his power son' has taken over, striking fear into the hearts of many.
But should we abide by this clock and realise how close we are to the apocalypse, or so should we just assume that we are safe and that the subliminal clock is as Dr. Manhatten (Jon Osterman) explains, "I would only agree that a symbolic clock is as nourishing to the intellect as a picture of oxygen to a drowning man." in other words it's only as real as we make it...

music downloads
Gahh people these days, what is it with them downloading music. I don't understand how you can say your a music fan and then download your favourite artists album illegaly it makes me sick, don't you understand that you are destroying the music industry. I love the feeling when i go into a shop and actually buy the CD itself, because i actually have something in my hands and not just something on my ipod, and it's helping the artist aswel which is really good if they are a real underground band.
Ok so downloading music off of itunes is alright because you are technically still paying for it, but wouldn't the CD feel so much better. Also if everyone keeps on buying music from itunes then eventually CDs will perish and there will be no reason for album artwork anymore, the artwork is one of the main parts of an album. It can sometimes tell a story just from looking at it and it represents attitude of the artist.
People pleeease open your eyes and realise what you are doing to an industry which is one of the biggest in the world today. Music makes the world go round, so help out the creative minds and pay for your music.

Halloween
So halloween is upon us once again, ghouls and goblins are roaming the streets and things are starting to bump in the night. Although halloween is on the monday me and some friends from uni decided to get dressed up and go out tonight aswell as it was the saturday, zombie outfit if your wondering.
So we've been to a few pubs and knocked a couple back and decide to venture outside into the street and go find another watering hole, but whilst out on the street we happened to run into the man himself, none other than Gaddafi. It was like seeing a ghost, the libyans thought that they had taken care of him last week when in actual fact he has been partying it up in Falmouth for a while now. That was an eventful night, especially when my mate Tyla decided to get a picture with him. I wonder who i'm going to see on monday: Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson? I might even get to catch a glimpse of Johnny Cash if i'm lucky

Crack Magazine
Ok so if anyone is ever looking through a newsagents and happens to see a paper which looks appealing to you and is free, and you may feel like you have an incling to buy it. If this paper is called CRACK I would definitely recommend putting it back down on the rack and buying something else. The whole thing is basically a middle finger to the entire world, I mean why would you create a paper that is just going to annoy and aggrevate people. The news in it is just pointless and I can't imagine anybody that would find it interesting.
The reviews are even worse, if your going to review music in your paper, you really need to get your facts right...calling a band a pop band when they are an emo-rock band is just dispicable, and just so you know anything to do with pop isn't a band, a band implies they play instruments which people in the pop industry can not do. Then when you think that it can't possibly get any worse there are horoscopes on the last page where they pretty much just take the piss out of you, Libra's was: "You have just started at university and everything is going fine, unfortunately everybody thinks your a twat" I mean what is that about. THE WORST PAPER EVER

Film Remakes
What is it with hollywood these days, is it that nobody can come up with any new ideas for films for the screen or do they just have no imagination in general. Everything that's coming out these days is either adapted from a book or a remake of a classic film which is just ruined by these new directors.
Now there is nothing wrong with taking books and making them into films, but the amount of films that have come from books in the last couple of years is just crazy. It really shows just how little effort goes into making films nowadays, what happened to the good old days when someone would write a script of a story that they had created and then they would send it off to see if the movie companies were interested and the movie would be created from there. But now there are no originals ideas because the books that the stories originate from are basically an outline for the writer to use...people where are your ideas.
Getting onto the issue of remakes, now don't get me wrong on the odd occasion a remake of a film will come out that is just as good as the original or the writers have used the same ideas but have created their own version of the story which can sometimes be alright, such as A nightmare on elm.street in which Jackie Earl Haley did Robert Englund justice by doing a superb job in recreating the character of Freddy Krueger. But it really annoys me when people decide to create a remake which just basically ruins the pureness of the original. I mean we can just look at the way that Rob Zombie completely ruined the Halloween franchise by trying to recreate John Carpenter's masterpiece, he just went straight over the top and destroyed the character of Michael Myers. Rob what are you playing at come up with your own ideas and stop ruining classics. Some others which have been remade and destroyed include: King Kong, conan the barbarian, Psycho, the day the earth stood still, the fog and friday the 13th to name a few. You people can't try and recreate the magic which was produced in those classics, just leave them alone and create your own. One of the biggest slaps in the face of the silverscreen is the diabolical creation which is the remake of Footloose, ok I know that the original wasn't one of the greatest dance films ever such as dirty dancing, but what they have done is just made another step up film, because they have gone waaay over the top with the dancing. When hollywood make these remakes and young people see them they think that these films are amazing and most don't even know they are remakes meaning the classics don't get the attention they deserve.
